Sadly, that specific remix of that particular flop song has received an insidious level of over saturated praise and attention in the past decade + from a stultifyingly provincial gay on another forum whose brain can only process one style of music production from 1986-1991. It’s a crying shame the undue level of attention that flop has gotten from such a rich and varied artist and the one true, undisputed ‘Queen of Disco’, Donna Summer.

Her former producer Rick Nowels deserted her as the years passed by, bitterness ensued and he instead made a bunch of money producing these (mostly for Lana) instead: But as of Thursday, May 16th 2023 - Belinda Carlisle is back with this Diane Warren produced track “Big Big Love” instead (her first Diane produced track since “I Get Weak” way back in 1987): And I rather like it.

I should cringe at how these graphics look in 2023, but it’s deep level of playability still make it the best game I played in my life. So much so that I want to revisit it (if I can ever be assed dusting down the equipment to do so). Dizzy: One.

I’m hearing this other rumour (that I’m taking with a VERY heavy grain of salt), that he is Russian and was evading being conscripted to fight in Ukraine and the Russian authorities caught up with him. I suspect it’s bs though. I can’t really imagine a gay bottom killing innocents with live ammunition (or anything else) tbh.

What was his definitive leak (or whatever) that made everyone go ‘wow’? I know he had some things that most people who do not live in the in U.S. simply don’t care enough about. I’m just struggling to think of his ‘Greatest Hits’.

Poland though.. Do you know, would any of those other names happen to be behind the leaking of those work in progress mixes of Madonna’s “Rebel Heart” album from a few years ago?

Wow, I’m shocked. I always got the impression he was some kind of “insider” who worked in an official capacity for an unspecified record label. He would often allude to having knowledge of specific artist campaigns in the planning stages, that had not yet been rolled out to the public. I always found the details to be lacking tbh, but I know many of his followers enjoyed the experience of being edged. His stanning of Dua Lipa is kinda legendary on Twitter and he was always passionate about the artists he loved, which I respected (even if some of the other, lesser ones he championed bored me to tears).

Brazilian pop star Anitta drags Warner Music on IG, saying she regrets signing with the label and would have “auctioned off her organs” to be let out of her contract. In response Anitta’s fans held a protest at one #WarnerMusic offices after CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck rejected the star’s plea to be released from her contract. Her fans are now using these hashtags on social media to show support #FreeAnitta #WarnerIsOverParty. Objectively, does Anitta have an actual problem here, rooted in sexism that contractually places her at an economic disadvantage? If so, do these issues stem from actual issues of misogyny and sexism within the Brazilian music industry? Do other Brazilian female entertainers typically have good working relationships with their record labels? Or alternatively, is Anitta merely regretful of having once signed a standard industry contract with a major when she was an unknown? and now simply flexing her star power to shine publicity on her personal relationship struggles with her label as a means of leverage to re-negotiate her contract.. now that her fame extends internationally and using her now international profile to apply pressure on her label to aid these contract negotiations?

Who could ever have predicted that together, Disney Corp and Crystal Meth would produce such an amazing and timeless icon of stage and screen. Where is her first Oscar already? She should totally have been nominated for the nuanced, understated and captivating performance she brought to the screen in “Princess Protection Program”.

new artist New/ Breaking Artists Thread (Your Tips/ Recomendations)
Dax Diameter replied to Dax Diameter's topic in Jukebox
Tennis are not a new band, I’ve been following this husband and wife duo since 2010 and they definitely have enough of a fan base to keep them in business. Something feels a bit different about this release though (from their upcoming album, “Pollen”. People I know who were previously unaware they existed have suddenly discovered them through this track. I hope it helps them breakthrough on a wider scale: -
I’m warming to this tech. There are a few artists whom I think don’t sing as good as they once did and I’d be curious to hear them sing their newer material with their youthful voices. I will wait until the AI is cheaper.

I like this little indie duo called Widowspeak and I feel their album “The Jacket” should have been nominated in the Best alternative music album category. (I was already sick of Wet Leg being pushed on me by the alt music press six months ago).

The American right wing will never cease to not amaze me with their utterly regressive, twisted narratives and not so hidden agenda’s. Whilst I personally do not feel the need to see Sam Smith indulge in water sports any more than I need to see Anitta indulge in assimilated cock worship, I have come to the conclusion that every generation is at this point going to now feel the need to go there. I would be a hypocrite if I did not cite this as a reminder that (in Sam’s case), Pop already went there long ago and whether they choose to admit it or not, this scene at 3 mins, 15 secs is most likely where they took their inspiration. Sam previously (subtly) alluded to a character in the lyrics of their previous single (with Kim Petras), having gone to an EVEN more extreme place, so in some bizarre way they are now being subtle. I’m sure the outrage of that right wing U.S. political woman (or whatever she is) - at its core is alluding to Sam’s current video as I find it hard to believe her shock stems from that Grammy’s performance costume alone. Particularly as the American right wing (which she clearly represents), has already taken note and “cancelled” Sam on the basis of their current video: ————————————————————————————— Regarding Beyoncé, I personally loved her third album but have not enjoyed anything at all from her fifth album onwards and whilst that means nothing and is absolutely no reason why she should not have won this years AOTY Grammy for “Renaissance”, given how much others appear to love it .. Beyoncé is not and never has been “Disco”, nor paid anything other than lip service to that genre on an interpolation from her old track “Naughty Girl”. So when I see Beyoncé appropriating the symbolism of the disco ball (in imagery from her current album campaign), I cannot help but feel led up the garden path in terms of where the album is going in terms of style. in her career she has cosplayed at being Donna Summer (an artist who means the world to me) in the aforementioned track and she has also cosplayed at being Diana Ross (in “Dream Girls”). In her quarter century of fame, Beyoncé has pissed off so many women of colour from Keri Hilson, through to Robin S and Kelis. The last I heard, Kelis wanted to sue the writing team behind a track (titled “Energy”) from Beyoncé’s current album (including Beyoncé herself whom Kelis does not like) and although Robin S never wrote HER own signature hit “Show Me Love”, I know Robin felt hurt when (without warning) her phone started ringing non stop after the drop of “Break My Soul”, with media interest wanting her hot take on her (non) “collaboration” with Beyoncé, completely oblivious to wtf the media were talking about. Beyoncé (it transpired) never felt the need to reach out to a veteran (still working) performer to warn her that she had lifted the baseline from her biggest (and signature) hit and needed it to sell the launch single from HER latest album. I could go on, but suffice to say it seems to me overall there is some outstanding bad feeling pertaining to certain writer/ performers not feeling correctly rewarded for their contribution to Beyoncé’s latest opus (which may yet result in forthcoming legal drama) and therefore the Grammy Committee were perhaps already astutely aware of this and on that basis considered that a full Beyoncé AOTY award might just be a problematic bridge too far in the long term. I cite this video at 2 hours and 7 minutes in, where the subject turns to Kelis and she goes on to describe her feelings on Beyoncé’s use of her song.

I’m tired of the seeming entitlement Beyoncé and her fans appear to believe she has to AOTYA. Whenever it’s Lana’s year she always finds herself in a similar predicament with the Grammy Awards Committee. I feel Lizzo should have won this year. I just have to eye-roll whenever that awful tattooed twink wins anything. I will absolutely cackle at Beyoncé’s reaction if Doja Cat wins next year.

Lisa Marie Presley, Daughter of Elvis Presley, Dead at 54
Dax Diameter replied to CUNTISSIMO's topic in Entertainment News
True. I suspect it was a lack of parental boundaries in Lisa Marie’s childhood that directly led to her sense of feeling lost in the world as an adult. It’s definitely a cliched tale of destiny rooted in old Hollywood. -
I’d love to hear Adele on a dance banger like “Euphoria” by Loreen (or the holy grail, Donna Summer on Lonnie Gordon’s “Happenin’ All Over Again”).
