I hope we get a Hot City Deluxe, but this sounds like it would be a strong follow up. 1. 5. What is your least favourite album of a select artist's discography and why? Whether it's what you consider the "worst", or perhaps the weakest album of [artist]'s discography, why is it your dislike the album, and how would you improve it? (I hope this question doesn't cross into the fix the era thread, though it would be cool to have more postings in there to how you would fix your records of choice) Note: This thread is entirely opinion based. Please do not engage in negative wars or fights or whatever, at the end of the day our tastes greatly differ. Also there is a big difference between "worst" and "weakest", with worse being a harsh read for the given quality, whereas weakness shows potential but the overall presentation could have been better. P.S. These albums I (mostly) don't consider the worst of an artist's discography, I really like C,XOXO, I've never heard Takin It Back and I also like Solar Power and Witness too. Discuss.

  6. Off the top of my head: Britney Spears - Britney Jean Truly a dreadful album from beginning to end, although there are a handful of tracks that could have been good in another lifetime. Work Bitch, Passenger, Alien and Perfume all have potential but are wasted by vocals that were recorded while poor Britney wasn't even in the room. Even on the good tracks, poor production choices and messy Autotune lets down the rest of the song. The rest of the album is a jumbled mess of poorly written filler, D-list collabs (including a duet with her sister which is undeniably the worst song of her career) and a complete lack of any musical direction or concept. Britney was completely checked out of this era, and when you look at the material they gave her to work with I can't blame her in the slightest

  7. Lemme get this one out of the way... The Life of a Showgirl - Taylor Swift This album pretty much feels like she wrote 12 songs that were "good enough" to be released and called it a day, the visuals are sooo good (the bedroom ones from the Honey / Ruin the Friendship visuals could've been a Guilty as Sin? MV) but the music just isn't it after 7 or so months I can comfortably say this is hands down her worst era and bar maybe 1 song (Ruin the Friendship) I have had no desire to return to it. I have more I want to say but it would just be beating a dead horse with a stick atp so nvm.

  8. Okay, lets start this off with a few Kim Petras - Feed The Beast (2023) Unfortunately there's a good handful of bops on here, but there's a lack of creativity and sense of direction behind this body of work, a fault that is not Kim's of course, but this problem later bleeds into its technical late parent album Problematiqué, originally scheduled for 2022. That's kinda all there is to it, other than a few handful of good songs, it's her worst album in my opinion because there's a lack of creativity and direction, and you can tell the label didn't know what to do with her either, rough as hell for a debut album. Though I like to think the album name is a inside joke towards how it was being on her label, given how Detour was rather open and metaphorical about industry hardships amongst other topics. Jane Remover - Indie rock (2025) Technically a mixtape (which counts, it's still a full length body of work), Indie rock is Jane's deeper delve into the roots of her critically adored Revenegseekerz album. However, the mixtape, which it's title is a nod to the tank top worn in the "Dancing with your eyes closed" video, butchers the quality of which made Revenegseekerz such a great album in the first place. Though it's technically produced to not "outdo" the original album, she only confirms that this record is not a satire project based on the new wave of fans she earned from Revengeseekerz by teasing a sequel. Indie rock is terrible because you cannot hear a single thing she's saying almost all the time, and the beats are the saving grace at most times. Very few select tracks where she's not trying to emulate the wave of talentless white mumble rappers who think the underground is unique, it's almost a disgrace to the art of rap in itself. Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 2 Whilst I did enjoy this album when it had first dropped, it's aged very poorly. This album does not stack up to the legacy album that is it's predecessor nor does it match the quality that was given by The Pinkprint and Queen, which are by far her greatest works to date. Pink Friday really raised the bar for female rap and was a threat to the industry on release, as well as the unique channelling of rap AND pop music in such a camp manner that would be more explorative for Roman Reloaded. So a sequel album would have probably had alot more to say in this stage of her career, right? Pink Friday 2, clocking in at a bloated 22 songs, where less than half the album has some form of decency. The album feels more like a playlist than it does an album, which Nicki "takes pride in" making, but to me this album just feels like a throwaway record to get fans off her ass about releasing an album. It's messy and nearly disgraces the original Pink Friday. The album had potential to perhaps be a reflective album that doesn't aim to outdo her previous bodies of work, but to still do what she's best at. Some songs could have even nodded to points of her career, thus Pink Friday 2 would have made alot of sense if it were to be an album that was dissect of her impact up until that point, but it doesn't, and then the name feels like a cheap gimmick. And also the fact 13/22 songs have samples and only few of them work... yikes. And not to mention the album's constant revising, delays and the cd and vinyl tracklisting differing from streaming, because it only further cements how much lack of care was put into this record. And whilst we're on the topic, can artists please just release ONE version of an album, instead of doing multiple tracklistings for the cds, vinyls and streaming? It's irritating as fuck. The tracklist of an album is important to curating the listening experience. Now, if I were to fix this album, and perhaps make it sound more listenable, here's how I would do it:

  11. ive done this countless times but ive settled on this playlist for the 2008 Warner Records Kesha album. It's Party Time! (i quite like this standard list a lot, i wish i knew what other tracks were also considered for this 2008 album, i would KILL to have been a fly on those walls) Fuck Him He's a DJ (demo) VIP (demo) Dinosaur (demo) Mr. Watson Stephen Backstabber (demo, not the final mix explicit) While You Were Sleeping Boots & Boys Red Lipstick Goodbye Acklin Road (i NEED this to leak pls help a phag out) Styrofoam deluxe edition (basically some of the Animal tracks that were without Luke credits and/or known to have been form 2008 or before) Party at a Rich Dude's House Butterscotch (mix 3) Dancing with Tears in My Eyes C U Next Tuesday i also learned that TiK ToK was recorded January 2009 lol then the remaining Animal + Cannibal tracks make up whatever this possibly early 2011 album concept would be (maybe not this exact order or maybe switch out songs like Grow a Pear and Crazy Beautiful Life with some outtakes Your Love is My Drug TiK ToK Kiss N Tell Take it Off Sleazy Blah Blah Blah Blow Hungover We R Who We R Crazy Beautiful Life The Harold Song Shots on the Hood of My Car Blind deluxe edition Cannibal Dirty Picture Grow a Pear Animal

  16. if shes the primary artist and main singer in all the songs, then its a britney album. i just dont count britney jean as it's an album mostly recorded by her backup vocalist instead and disguised and released under britney's name, and britney didn't have a choice to say no to anything in her career at that point either sadly. and being marketed as a personal record (when its not) was just pure evil

  17. Very true! Her career becomes more and more Ship of Theseus the further along you get...How much of an album does Britney actually need to sing on for it to be a Britney album? 👀

  19. Nightmare Vacation by Rico Nasty (2020) Tracklist I don't really like Pussy Poppin' as much as I used to when it came out, Check Me Out is good too, but this album is kind of hard to smoothen out. Lightning is also an underrate deep cut and could have fit the album

  26. Child of the Universe by Delta Goodrem (2012) Child of the Universe was Delta Goodrem's fourth studio album and it was horribly handled. Sony Music Australia fumbled this damn album so bad. The space between the lead (April) and album (October) releases was ridiculous. The album should have come in June 2012, not October. The album is full of amazing songs and single-worthy material, but it is painfully obvious how the focus was more on her being a coach on The Voice Australia. Here is how I would have fixed the era: Singles March 2012: Sitting on Top of the World June 2012: Dancing with a Broken Heart October 2012: Child of the Universe February 2013: War on Love June 2013 – reissue lead: Heart Hypnotic September 2013: Love thy Will Be Done

  28. last year she did 2 tour legs plus additional shows and collabs. the album was hopefully profitable but no money from streams. she still does writing sessions and has secured at least minor co writes in recent years. i think she may have invested in something after selling her songwriter publishing.

  34. Oh no, I think you're right! Did It For Love and Nemesis weren't playing for some reason but the others were...I must have messed up when swapping out the album versions for the single versions It should be fixed now! I also added a few easter eggs to the website...The unreleased album can now only be found by clicking a secret image and there's also a Konami code secret if you're bored I've been steadily writing away ever since the first album but I need to commit to actually booking into the studio and getting this stuff recorded! Honestly I could probably have this album out by the end of the year if I reelly hustled 🤔 So glad you like the new demo though! I produced that one myself which I was proud of!

  35. Ooooh this is so cool! The website looks great, and I love the record player + the fact it has the lyrics too is an amazing touch. Great job! However... I don't know if it's just me but I tried to play The High Life (needed to give Nemesis another spin lol) but I couldn't play any song? Only the unreleased new track played for me, the others remained silent when clicking play. If it's just me this will be embarrassing lol my internet could be slow af. Also... am I smelling a second album on the horizon? so here for it! The new demo sounds very cute, I guess it's unfinished because it's so short? But I'm digging it for sure

  38. Myself by Kiana Ledé (2019) Tracklist Merge of Myself and Selfless. Both have the same song (EX) on it which has bugged me for years though I think EX is a Myself bonus as it was her breakout single. I used to love Myself EP when it first came out but never really got into her other albums, which I may do at some point

  39. STARFUCKER by Slayyyter (2023) Tracklist Oomf suggested Girl Like Me would have been a better closing track, whilst I think OOT works well too, I really like how Girl Like Me feels more conclusive, almost driving off into the sunset. I LOVE James Dean but tbh I didn't include it because ever since it was released, the clipping in the mastering just bugged me ngl, I would have replaced EE with it if that weren't the case. Erotic Electronic is a bop but does feel a little lackluster and Purrr is also a banger but is overly repetitive. My second re-arrange (this) is intended to create a more tighter listening experience, and I think I made the perfect tracklist for this album

  40. It's funny you say that because I literally remember during her first era having the same thought of "She's talented but too dark for me and it's all starting to sound the same" so we must be on the same wavelength This stuff is more interesting to me than her older work!

Click through for a 2000x sized image. The album cover is iconic on its own but I thought the back cover was lame. I saw this font and got inspired. I hope you like it and I apologize if it doesn't fit the vibe, I was thinking Body Talk type + the vibe of the album cover.

  48. Damita Jo by Janet Jackson (2004) Inspired by @Capsule in the General Chat, I am tackling the singles and promotion of Damita Jo, the eighth studio album by Janet Jackson. Developed as a concept album, "All Nite (Don't Stop)", "My Baby" and "R&B Junkie" were all contenders for leads, but "Just a Little While" was ultimately chosen and quickly pushed aside for "I Want You", despite radio being interested in "Sexhibition", "Island Life", "Thinkin' 'Bout My Ex", and "My Baby". The pieces were there for a really magnificent era, even despite the unjust Super Bowl blacklisting. Here is how I would have fixed the era: Singles November 2003: All Nite (Don't Stop) February 2004: R&B Junkie / Just a Little While May 2004: Sexhibition August 2004: Thinkin' 'Bout My Ex November 2004: I Want You March 2005: Island Life July 2005: SloLove
