Marilyn Manson
Portrait of an American Family: Reframed (idea for a deluxe reissue)

Poaaf-frame-isometric-1.jpg
(ive tried to edit the image but its in poor quality cos its not available outside of this)

so i always thought this album could have been a little longer plus some songs were still performed after the album came out (White Knuckles) plus songs that were considered for the album but either were pulled from the tracklist at the last minute (Filth) or simply decided to be left off. there are roughly 40+ total songs that were recorded/demoed from 1989-1993 before the album came out in 1994 including the songs that were released. this is my take on how i would expand the album by inserting tracks into the final tracklist. i thought about removing Cyclops just because its a long list but i really cant bring myself to remove anything and if i were to just put the added tracks into their own bonus disc, id want to fill that up with the full 80 minutes a CD can take up and i feel that would be too much lol.

  1. Prelude (The Family Trip)
  2. Cake and Sodomy
  3. Dune Buggy
  4. Lunchbox
  5. Organ Grinder
  6. Insect Pins
  7. Cyclops
  8. Dope Hat (remove that 20 or so seconds of near-silence at the intro)
  9. Get Your Gunn
  10. Wrapped in Plastic
  11. Filth
  12. Dogma
  13. White Knuckles
  14. Sweet Tooth
  15. Thrift
  16. Snake Eyes and Sissies (i wanted to use the demo version from The Manson Family Album cassette rip thats online but it sounds so slow in comparison to the album version despite there being additional lyrics lol though it is a full minute longer)
  17. My Monkey
  18. Misery Machine (im using the edited B-side version from the Get Your Gunn CD single)

total length - 1:15:57

Damita Jo by Janet Jackson (2004)

JanetJackson-09DamitaJo.jpg

Inspired by @Capsule in the General Chat, I am tackling the singles and promotion of Damita Jo, the eighth studio album by Janet Jackson. Developed as a concept album, "All Nite (Don't Stop)", "My Baby" and "R&B Junkie" were all contenders for leads, but "Just a Little While" was ultimately chosen and quickly pushed aside for "I Want You", despite radio being interested in "Sexhibition", "Island Life", "Thinkin' 'Bout My Ex", and "My Baby". The pieces were there for a really magnificent era, even despite the unjust Super Bowl blacklisting. Here is how I would have fixed the era:

Singles

  1. November 2003: All Nite (Don't Stop)
  2. February 2004: R&B Junkie / Just a Little While
  3. May 2004: Sexhibition
  4. August 2004: Thinkin' 'Bout My Ex
  5. November 2004: I Want You
  6. March 2005: Island Life
  7. July 2005: SloLove
