I don't understand why people have to be that way. It's seriously fucked up. I wonder if the shooter thought for a minute about the mothers and father's of those killed people. Some of them might even have babies who became orphans now. This is disgusting. I can't even imagine how my mom would feel if I went to a concert and never came back. I 100% agree with you! Maybe it's because we're from countries where guns are much more difficult to receive? Here in Australia at least, guns were 99% outlawed back in 1996 and since then we haven't had a single mass shooting. Meanwhile Americans suffer through a mass shooting pretty much every week and yet they still won't even consider changing their policies on firearms. It's sad and sick. People have died and not voluntarily, lives and families are ruined because of it. This and any other situation isn't something that should be taken the piss out of, let alone not even 24 hours after it happening with the death toll still going up. I don't care if it makes me come across as a 'cupcake' or someone who can't take a joke, it's a serious thing that's happened and trying to poke fun at it and that they deserved to die because of the concert they attended is disgusting. I do agree with you on the gun laws, I've never heard in Australia about mass shootings like that over here and it's because guns are much harder to come across, you have to know how to use a gun, have a mental and police check, all these things before they'll even let you purchase a gun which I agree maybe America needs to tighten up the laws against guns as it's sad this keeps happening it happened at the gay club (I forgot where in America) but that was very upsetting and now it's happened again, and it's happened over and over in the past so maybe they shouldn't make guns as easily accessible - I'm not saying we're perfect over here but I've not heard of anything like that happening here. Sorry to hear about your friend, I guess I wouldn't have made this kind of a joke to anyone who was personally affected by this tragedy. But it sounds like we have very different opinions on comedy because I'm pretty much of the opinion that anything's fair game regardless of how long ago it happened. If you can't laugh, you'll cry, so we might as well take this crazy world for what it is and joke about it if we can! Australia made our gun laws super strict in 1996 since the Port Arthur massacre, and ever since then we haven't had a single mass shooting. Imo, that really says all you'll ever need to know about what the right solution for America is going forward. The fact it's even a discussion over there is sad. And the thing about gay people not being able to donate blood is some stupid and outdated rule that goes back to the AIDS epidemic, I have no idea why it's still even in effect tbh. I've met one of the victim's families, as they came into my work this weekend, and they look utterly lost. Press have been following them so they require police escorts, etc. It's a sad situation. I nearly broke down; their faces held nothing in them. Blank faces and no body language. It was horrifying. I couldn't imagine. And I'm sure he will be OK!
