Published less than a year after her second album “i.nimene” ,the record met mixed reviews from both critics and fans, mostly for its superficial and sexual lyrics, and its departure from Kerli’s previous dark attitude.
Some fans repeatedly accused the singer of trying to break into the mainstream scene at the expense of the profound vein that had always characterized her concepts; while other still affirm WOMC is an underrated pearl of indie-pop music, unique in its own way and superficial only to a distracted listening.
Fans’ favorites “Dollface” and “Bubblegum” were never released as singles.
The album also suffered a lack of promotion due to both Kerli and her team wanting to move on with the next record.
Years after its release Kerli stated that she would never work ever again with such a hurry, which she thought affected the record production.
(Sorry for my bad English.)
