The eLLa stuff is cute, haha. I sort of feel it's a big kiss-off to fans who complained rather than it being genuine though, it seems quite sarcastic because of the extreme cuteness and pop sound but maybe that's my perception as I wasn't aware of the story behind it all.

The second episode was better, I feel. You can understand why she is so angry/frustrated all the time, which isn't good for an addict. I think she takes a couple of positive steps forward.

I wasn't aware she had a band, or that she also went by Ella at some point. I'll check out Sumo Cyco some time although the artwork makes me feel I won't like it too much lol.

Ah I remember Lillix and Skye Sweetnam (the first album is awesome lol). I haven't listened to them in years though. I'll definitely need to. What about The Donnas? They have an album produced by Butch Walker, who has also worked with a lot of the people mentioned here, and their most recent album from 2007 was very on-trend with the whole fizzy/electro rock sound like Lillix and The Veronicas.

'i' is one of the songs I skip as well. I like it, but I could definitely do without it.

I have been watching it. Part of me feels like she is really trying, then another part of me feels like she is giving lip service and saying what people want to hear. It's difficult to be fully convinced by her but I wish her well.

Yeah, the original story is very dark compared to Disney's version. The mermaid's bargain is that she will feel excruciating pain every time she takes a step on land and she commits suicide, or dies by drowning because she wants to go back to her home (I can't remember which), in the end. If it's based on the original story it will be very different to Disney's.
