Scammer Alert: User "musicislife ( Nora on leaked.cx)

Hello everyone,

I’m reporting a scam involving the user "musicislife" (Nora on leaked.cx)  . We agreed to trade 2 unreleased Tinashe songs. As part of the deal:

I sent 2 songs to them.

In return, they only sent me 1 song instead of the agreed-upon 2.

Despite following up, I have not received the second song. This is a clear violation of the trade agreement we made.

Please be cautious when dealing with this user. If you’ve had similar experiences, feel free to share. I can provide proof of the trade and conversations if needed.

Let’s keep this community safe from dishonest traders.

I got scammed by them too. They just said they’d make another account if they got banned

If there are so many users who are scammed by him, why is he still posting in Trading thread and is not banned yet?And nobody is gonna do something just like always .....

If they're scamming you , bully them. Harass them. Send them 100 messages.

No offence, but what you all do/do not do in PMs (private messages) is your business and your business alone. 

You're the one who made the deal with the user(s) in question, not the administration. If we want to get technical, you're both trading copyrighted material, which is illegal, so by legal terms, not only should you both be banned, but certain sections of the board should be shut down.

Next time, be better in who you handle your trading with; if it came down to sharing media, I would've orchestrated a song-for-song trade. I get one, you get one, etc.

Excuse me, but I’m not sure why I should feel offended here. I’m not the one who broke the agreement between me and musicislife.

I have screenshots of our entire conversation, though I’ve chosen not to make them public. We agreed to trade two specific songs.
That's what I did: I sent the first song and the user sent me back the first song. After that, I sent him the second song but he didn't send the second song we agreed back.


As for the concern about trading copyrighted material, I’d like to point out that this forum has a dedicated thread specifically for trading. If that’s truly a violation, then the entire section would be against the rules.

I hope some action is taken for musicislife user regarding this situation. Based on the comments above, it seems I’m not the only one who’s had issues with him.

Again, as I stated, what you choose to do/not do in PMs ultimately does not affect us. You agreed to a trade; the other person did not fulfill it. Being a shit person is not actionable like that. It's more of a life lesson for you.  Unless they threatened your life, nothing can truly be done, especially in the age of VPNs, etc.

While I'm sympathetic to anyone getting scammed, this is why I included the last line in this thread:

I've made it very clear in the past, but new members may not be acutely aware, PHF is a forum for music. The impetus behind the site is not specifically for trading or selling. As a result, Mods and Admins do not get involved with issues relating to trading/selling/buying. You are more than welcome to share your experiences with other users (positive and negative), but that's your prerogative. Now, if the user in question begins to exhibit behaviour that explicitly goes against the rules that are outlined in the thread above, that's where you may report such behaviour, and a Mod or Admin will conduct an investigation. I hope this brings you some solace.

I've gone ahead and banned the user. Please remember that mods aren't accountable for any bad trades you might make and music trading remains frowned on. Users can also easily use VPNs to create another account and continue scamming. Trade at your own risk!
