  1. Let's not forget Stay Right Here while we're at it!! (I don't even care who's singing it...)
  2. Me as well 😊
  3. Sooner than we think?! Yeah that narrows it down...
  4. I wanna be careful from steering this thread into negativity or drama, but I just can't help asking, what are people's thoughts on the Taylor Swift x Matty Healy drama? I was quite the Swiftie many moons ago but sorta lost interest post-Midnights era. That said, I've been absolutely glued to all this drama recently about a celebrity who has absolutely no idea who I am! Shamelessly entering my Deuxmoi era A quick recap of events for the uninitiated: Taylor recently got dumped by her long-time boyfriend of 6 years, Joe Alwyn. She appears to have rebounded, very quickly, with The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy. This seemingly isn't the first time she's been involved with this washed-up pile of pizza crust: They had already been rumored to briefly be together back in 2014 or so. While less directly credible, there's a lot of decent speculation they had flings even during her relationship with Joe, with songs like "cardigan" for example being about him. The bulk of the drama comes down to this: Matty Healy has a history of saying terrible, bigoted things. In a podcast appearance earlier this year, he made racist comments about Ice Spice, while also joking about masturbating to videos from a website called "Ghetto Gaggers." This was widely and rightfully considered problematic, due to the fact that - and no, this is not a joke - the website hosts violent, berating porn where white men beat, humiliate and "dominate" black women. Little more need be said, frankly. Friends of Matty's seemingly confirmed his cute, funny little anecdote, indicating this wasn't simply some sort of messed-up joke attempt. Taylor, who has a history of being a political activist™ seems to have no problem with his overtly racist comments. In fact, her PR team is actively trying to bury the proof, editing Wikipedia pages to whitewash his (extensive) messed-up history, and issuing hilarious press statement after planted piece about how Taylor's friend told her other friend that she might have a crush on Matty, and she heard from the friend of a boyfriend of another friend that he likes her too!! The Ice Spice element brought this to another level when last week, she announced a collab remix of "Karma" with her. Regardless of how long this has been the works, the timing absolutely gives the idea that she's using Ice Spice to show everyone how wonderfully un-racist she is - After all, how can she be if a POC loves her enough to work with her?!?! Especially the one on the receiving end of her disgusting boyfriend's racism and misogyny?!?! I don't know, I feel like the reason this has gained so much traction is because it's kind of the pinnacle of 'casual racism' in the music industry, and how powerful white men get away with saying and doing whatever the hell they want, regardless of how terrible and culturally un-progressive it is. This combined with how childish Taylor is treating the whole thing just elevates it to whole other level of pathetic, and extremely fun to laugh at. Who's in the right? Are you a Tatty shipper? Is T-Swizzle an unapologetic, racist enabler? Or do you just wish she and her cult following would shut the fuck up already? Let us know in your fabulous replies!
  5. You're telling me you don't remember the best Kids Choice Awards performance of all time?!?! xD I forgot all about this too until just recently. It's funny, as a kid I never cared about any of the other versions and would just listen to the solo. But nowadays it's the complete opposite. No one could have dropped these bars the way Snoop did and unironically adds so much to the song lol. As kids we didn't question why these dudes were chilling with Snoop, now as an adult it's just the funniest yet greatest thing of all time IIRC the reason they landed so much stuff with him was because his daughter was a huge fan and convinced him to go on the show!
  6. Cool mini-update to an older post! A while ago I had done a little deep-dive on an obscure Sony promo CD called "S.I.N. Rhythym & Pop #08". It contains an officially commissioned mashup of "Boyfriend" (combining both the Snoop Dogg and New Boyz remixes), as well as a brief ID recorded by the guys, neither of which were released outside of this in-house promo set. Well, I recently managed to get ahold of this CD, and wanted to share lossless rips for both files! FLAC downloads: https://mega.nz/folder/UNFwAYbK#zmoDL-kkOB0BJTNpTC5MMg
  7. Still a bop after all these years! Lmao This is my current favorite Sabrina song:
  8. I feel like this won't surprise anyone... my first experience with pop was through Nickelodeon when they went through their music obsessed phase from like 2007 to 2012. Shoutout to Miranda's "Sparks Fly" music video for giving me my first ever crush. They did their own HSM rip-off in 2008 called Spectacular! that I was obsessed with, which that was the pre-cursor to doing their own boy-band that I mega-stanned from the very first day. As a little 8-year-old my fav songs ever were Halfway There by BTR, Beggin on Your Knees by Victoria, and Ariana's cover of Grenade lol. I ended up going more the rock/edm direction growing up until Ms. Jepsen converted be back into a pophead a few years ago. Emotion and racist-enabler-who-will-not-be named's 1989 made me want to get back into more mainstream stuff and now here I am! As of recently I'm slowly falling into Sabrina Carpenter standom
  9. We won y'all they're doing "Shot in the Dark" on the summer tour!
  10. TAKE COVER

  11. That could be the right move. A Katy comeback is always welcome. Especially if a certain redhead is involved Would be very, very interested to see what a modern dance-pop hit from those two would look like... if she'll still go for the soaring, upbeat role, I can't say no to that! It has been a while since we've heard from her after all.
  12. Yeah, nothing against Ed personally I guess but I really don't get the hype. Same for Coldplay, Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons and all those same-y radio-rock groups - They all followed the same pattern of 1. make great debut album 2. Ride off its success with bland, effortless nonsense until the end of time. "Believer" is genuinely one of my most hated songs ever because it just. never. goes away 💀 I finally listened to Kesha's new singles and clearly should not have put them off! "Fine Line" is just beautiful and "Eat the Acid" feels like only a teaser of what's to come on Gag Order. She brings a lot to the table and I'm all for her artistic evolution! I hope she doesnt hold back against Dr. Puke and can take back even a little of everything that he's ruined for her.
  13. I'm honestly not as well-educated in the Minogue-verse as I should be, but taking your word that Dannii has a more expressive vocal range, it wouldn't surprise me if she was more vocally capable/talented despite being less known. Popularity works in confusing ways. Something I never really understood was, when pop music is like, mathematically designed to be as "listenable" as possible, wouldn't you expect the people with the "best" voices to be most popular? But it doesn't seem to be the case. For example, which of these is a more talented vocalist, Adam Lambert or Ed Sheeran? Or to phrase it differently, which of those two got picked to succeed Freddie Mercury? But yet, which one do you have to listen to whine about his geometry fetish every time you go to Target? I guess my point is that 'generic' sells better, because maybe familiarity/safety is a stronger ingredient in earworm science, at least psychologically speaking? idk. Maybe Kylie had an easier time with her music career because people already knew who she was? Not to say she's generic or anything, it's not always down to that. For every Kardashian you have a Scarlett Johansson. Maybe a certain extent is just luck? Well this doesn't really weigh in on your specific question much - Mainly, I just wanted a reason to join this thread I think it's an amazing idea! Too many people visit this forum just to steal download links and run. We need more pop-philosophizing around here!
  14. Would you mind listing a couple others specifically? Will try to fix them as soon as I get the chance. All this album news is keeping me busy!
  15. I ain't superstitious but I love it when you make me believe <3 :bop:

  16. We don't know, that's the point. It's why I haven't posted or talked about it here. People are too quick to assume things
  17. Wayne Hector has written two songs called "Risk It All" - this one and then a completely different song by The Vamps, released in 2014. It's confusing because BTR's registration has both Lucas Secon and Matthew Prime as co-writers, whereas Lucas is only on Blue's, and Matt Prime only on The Vamps'. I actually have his demo of this one.
  18. Thank you much! Added to the mega
  19. Very interesting, thank you. Never seen this before. After looking a bit, this was apparently the "theme song" for a show called Made in Sweden, a reality show that Andreas Carlsson starred in. I found clips from the second season on YouTube, which features Play's version (this show directly led to them getting the track). Not sure about the earlier season. I'll try to track down an OG file - all I can find is an old YouTube video. I did find a remixed version on an MP3 archive site, though... weird, given how scarce info on this seems to be. https://krakenfiles.com/view/D5Oie61adr/file.html
  20. https://www.allkpop.com/article/2023/03/nine-muses-reportedly-regrouping-for-a-comeback-this-year Depression sux and I haven’t been on top of shilling my ultras lately, but I’ve finally gotten around to recapping this out-of-the-blue news from a couple weeks back. On March 21, it was reported via press release that, of all things, Nine Muses is preparing to mount a comeback. This is their first activity since releasing their disbandment single “Remember” in February 2019. At the time, they were down to just four members. Despite this, they are reportedly coming back, and soon at that… 9M will make a comeback later this year, with new music slated July-August. The exact lineup of is not clear, but logically, it will probably be similar to the 2015-16 one. But before that, they will apparently be launching a sub-unit, called Nine Muses A, consisting of Hyemi, Sojin, Keumjo, and Kyung Li. They could release an album as soon as May. What’s the consensus on this, y’all? I don’t really know what to think, personally. On one hand, hearing anything resembling the 2016 lineup again is difficult to resist- “Hurt Locker” was a mega-bop to end them all, and we all know it. That said, at least to me, 9M will never be the same without the Queen herself, who I doubt anyone bothered to invite (not that she would, or should, do it anyway). Not eager to support the pathetic company that is Star Empire, but if I can sail the seven seas, I’m probably not physically capable of resisting checking out at least that all-star sub-unit lineup... Well, in more important news, stream Vertical by Ryu Sera, featuring the iconic masterpiece “Burger ate Pizza”!
  21. Do you happen to have the missing one on hand? If not I'll track it down and update the mega ASAP
  22. Was working on a news round-up for all this and decided to just make a separate thread for album news, so we don't have to bump this one everytime for each new update.
  23. Here are all the studio snippets from the Miami Tapes series... well, hopefully. Think I got them all but let me know if I missed something. All of these songs were written and/or finished in April 2022 during the Miami camp. They may appear on either an upcoming Spanglish EP (tentatively Con Amor, originally slated "early 2023"; current status not clear) or their anticipated English album (which they are aiming to finish before the Can't Get Enough Tour starts in June). (EDIT 9/2/2023 - The download links in this post are dead, but all these files are in the mega in the main post) "Forget You Now" (Final studio mix) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/MLzyWLQiID/file.html "Buena" (Final studio mix) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/FK7HA8L2PK/file.html "Casi Boom Boom" (Final studio mix) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/syHweRZ56R/file.html "Want Right Now" (Kendall & Logan demo) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/nLA1ElbzPJ/file.html "Honey" (Kendall, Logan, & Candace Sosa demo) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/mLPoxkmsoj/file.html "Fall" (rough cut) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/TJEfEs9ZvY/file.html "Mood Ring" (Kendall demo) - https://krakenfiles.com/view/0L0cTubWtz/file.html Note, these were just the studio snippets, so not counting footage of the actual writing sessions and recording takes: You can hear a bit more for some like "Forget You Now" or "Dreamworld", but because they're literally in the process of writing and/or recording them, they might not be perfectly representative of anything. (Also, I don't want to overdo it. I do feel a little bad posting clips from their paid content... ) If it's any consolation, and if you're the type that digs this behind-the-scenes BTR stuff, the Tapes series has been phenomenal and absolutely worth checking out! 5 dollars a month for their app is definitely, a choice but I get why they need to build up funds at the moment. These docu- episodes make up about 2 hours of content now, so it's arguably worth a 1-time binge payment (in my opinion). Will add more details about these to the infopost soon!
  24. Not my off-the-cuff vent post impacting PHF history Just kidding, the fact that you went through the effort of making a whole new emote means the whole world to me! I will make sure to send it to everyone else who goes out of their way just to be kind - aka, the absolute best of the #PHFam Maybe it is time to find something new... that web design recommendation perked my ears up. I used to be really into Wikipedia editing and picked up some tidbits of HTML, and I always wanted to try my hand at learning the whole language. I should set some time aside and give that a go! Thank you so much for your reply, and more importantly for all you do for the forum! We don't appreciate it enough.
