I adore Bonnie, and have been a diehard fan of hers forever, but I think one of the biggest things holding her back is constantly comparing herself to her peers. She had a record deal, then lost it. She had a second shot, then lost it again (unfairly might I add). She had something to prove with the Bombastic EP, and it was actually wildly successful and incredibly polished for an independent release. But I think she really struggles with being independent. In her mind everything needs to be executed like a major label artist, because that's all she knows. And, unfortunately, she seems to second guess herself a lot. It would be easy to assume she's frustrated and has a fear of failing giving the experiences she's had as a performer in the music industry. Ultimately, I think that's why we haven't gotten these songs as part of an official release. She put her heart and soul into them and doesn't want to just chuck them out to little fanfare. It seems she's really been putting a lot of effort into TikTok as of late, so hopefully that will help her build some momentum. It's just unfortunate that she seems to "come and go" on social media and hasn't released anything (apart from a few features here and there) in ages. If she put out consistent releases since Bombastic, I really feel like she could have built up a huge cult following like CRJ. Let's get real, it's not because of lack of material. Bonnie is sitting on a goldmine of bops. I wish she would just let go of the idea of trying to be the next Katy Perry and believe in herself and her craft and consistently put out music independently.

I'm just so damn thirsty for "Forever 21", "Hot City" and "Right Now". Lol. Does anyone know for sure if those songs are in circulation? I haven't seen anyone confirm it. I would imagine somebody out there must have them considering she performed them live a number of times back in 2013/14. Also manifesting the full version of her cover of "99 Red Balloons" leaks. The snippet is SO GOOD.

Has anybody heard "Electric Heaven"? I'm curious to know what it sounds like. Based on the title alone my guess is it would be '80s, upbeat and anthemic like "Hot City" or "Hit Me Up". "Forever 21" is the holy grail for me, but I really do hope we get studio versions of "Hot City", "Right Now", "Hit Me Up" since we've heard all of these songs already (whether it be live versions or sung by another artist in the case of "Hit Me Up"). Of course I'd love "Electric Heaven", "Mirage", "Outlaw", etc. too. But I'm not as fussed over those since we haven't heard them before and been waiting on them for years.

She never announced the album title officially (in fact, I think I recall her saying that she was toying with a couple different options in a livestream way back when), but there's a rumour it may have been called "Somebody's Gonna Get Hurt" based on the fact that it's listed here on a mix engineers website alongside a bunch of other albums that came out around that time. And honestly, I think that title would have made sense given the themes in a lot of the songs (Waking Up Diagonal, Jenny's Got a Boyfriend, I Wanna F**king Call You, etc.) I'm calling my fan-made album "American Girl" though, as I feel like it fits more with the spirit of the project.

Thank you so much for the "Jenny" remaster! I was hoping someone with some audio skills would be able to remaster everything once we (hopefully) get the full album, as it's obvious these were recorded at different times and some of are not final versions.

She has said that he refused to release S.L.A.Y. as the second single after American Girl and told her to "keep writing". And she got fed up with all of the false starts and empty promises so she ended up leaving the label. She's spoken many times since then about being an indie artist and how she loves the creative control and being able to release things when she wants... too bad she rarely does. 😫

I will never get over the fact that LA Reid thought this album wasn't strong enough. Shows how much record execs know. I feel like this 1000% could have been up there with CRJ's Emotion as a cult classic. Every song is just melodic magic and so strong. It's truly a shame that Bonnie didn't start drip-feeding these out on streaming services as soon as she got the rights back. I feel like she could have definitely built up a really solid cult following in the same way that CRJ has done. She's been promising to release these songs for years, and nothing has happened. You can't say she didn't have the chance to do so MANY times. Fingers crossed the remaining few will leak, we can have the album we deserved, and Bonnie will put out the other album she finished and was planning on releasing before covid.

Let's get real, we have a better chance of Bonnie releasing a cure for COVID than we do of her releasing these songs. People hoarding them is annoying af. 🙄
