This just in: Taylor Swift's latest 'Love Story' doesn't involve one of her many, many boyfriends, but this time is a (hopefilly) one-sided romance between her and the online neo-Nazi movement.

Just months ago, feminist writer Camille Paglia dubbed the popstar an "obnoxious Nazi Barbie" who claimed to encourage girl power but instead simply used her female friends as "performance props" to promote a “silly, regressive public image”. And it seems that Swift is not yet 'Out of The Woods' just yet, landing in hot water recently after reports that she has become an unofficial mascot for white supremacy amongst far-right blogs.

According to supporters, it is Swift's lack of 'Bad Blood' which was the bouncing off point for her status as Hitler's head honcho. "Firstly, Taylor Swift is a pure Aryan goddess, like something out of classical Greek poetry. Athena reborn. That's the most important thing," says white supremacist author Andre Anglin. "We are certain that as soon as Nazis saw her, they were magnetically drawn to her sculpted Aryan form and angelic demeanour."

But it's not just her 'Style' which attracts Nazis to Swift. According to Anglin, "It is also an established fact that Taylor Swift is secretly a Nazi and is simply waiting for the time when Donald Trump makes it safe for her to come out and announce her Aryan agenda to the world. Probably, she will be betrothed to Trump's son, and they will be crowned American royalty."

'This Love' allegedly stems from a series of Hitler quotes falsely attributed to Swift and spread virally through image board website Pinterest. Teenager Emily Pattinson started posting memes on her account to spoof Swift years ago, but was soon asked to take her content down by Swift's attorneys, who claimed:

The association of Ms. Swift with Adolf Hitler undisputedly is 'harmful,' 'abusive,' 'ethnically offensive,' 'humiliating to other people,' 'libelous,' and no doubt 'otherwise objectionable.' It is of no import that Ms. Swift may be a public figure or that Pinterest conveniently now argues that the Offending Material is mere satire or parody. Public figures have rights. And, there are certain historical figures, such as Adolf Hitler, Charles Manson and the like, who are universally identified in the case law and popular culture as lightning rods for emotional and negative reaction.

But oddly enough, this isn't the first time Swift has been associated with Nazism. Aside from Paglia's very public criticism of the singer, the typically squeaky 'Clean' imaged popstar was also left in a sticky situation way back in 2009 after a photo of her posing with a Swastika-adorned fan leaked online. According to Swift's representative, "Taylor took pictures with about 100 people that night… she doesn’t know who this guy is and she didn’t realize what was on his shirt." But this didn't stop online commentators from criticising Swift's role in the pphotograph, or from suggesting that the 'JH' on her chest stood for 'Jew Hater' (apparently it actually stood for Julianne Hough, whose party she was attending).

Any Whitney Houston fans who were planning on tuning into Monday's episode of The Voice will be left sorely disappointed after a planned duet between the late legend and the show's judge Christina Aguilera has been abruptly cancelled.

The duet, in which Whitney would appear from beyond the grave via hologram and Christina would appear in person, was rumoured for some time, and moments from the performance were posted on Snapchat by curious audience members, before the collaboration was confirmed by TMZ. It wasn't promoted by the network, who wanted to keep Whitney's appearance as a surprise for Monday's seson finale.

But the duet was pulled two days ago, after Whitney's estate saw the performance for the first time. Allegedly they thought that the hologram technology was not up to par and that the figure "didn't look like Whitney" - a sentiment echoed by many fans online.

Pat Houston, executor of the estate and Whitney's sister in law, said in a statement:

We are so appreciative of the opportunity for the Whitney Houston hologram to appear on NBC’s The Voice with a talent pairing as extraordinary as Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston. We were looking to deliver a ground breaking duet performance for the fans of both artists. Holograms are new technology that take time to perfect, and we believe with artists of this iconic caliber, it must be perfect. Whitney’s legacy and her devoted fans deserve perfection. After closely viewing the performance, we decided the hologram was not ready to air. We have much respect and appreciation for Christina, and she was absolutely flawless.

The saddest part of the situation is that Christina served her best live vocals in years during the show - something which even the The Voice producers and Whitney's estate can agree on. Aguilera has made no secret of her admiration for the icon, and in 2001 she performed another tribute to the superstar when she performed 'Run To You' live on TV.

News of a Whitney hologram was first announced last year, when plans were made to develop a tour with the technology to tour around America. Back then, Pat  Houston stated that the hologram will be a “reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history” and will “continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come”.

After years of delays and endless searching, Hollywood has finally found the woman talented enough to fill out Lara Croft's hefty singlet!

Following over seven years of deliberation, Warner Bros. and MGM have finally settled on OSCAR winner and last year's breakthrough star Alicia Vikander as the one for the role. Vikander, who rose to prominence in her roles last year in Ex Machina, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Danish Girl, beat out fan favourite and the biggest contender for the role, Star Wars' Daisy Ridley. According to Variety, though, Vikander was always the studio's top choice, and they were simply waiting on a new draft of the script before confirming her for the role.

Confirmed alongside Vikander was director Roar Uthaug, who has previously only directed films released in his native Norway. According to Uthaug, the film will discard the universe established in Angelina Jolie's two-film series in order to reboot the character in the vein of Square Enix's latest two series of games. Like the character in those games, Vikander's Croft is intended to feel "like a real human being."

A third Tomb Raider film was put into production as soon as the last one, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life was released in 2003. Originally, a third film featuring Jolie was set to be released, but was cancelled when the actress expressed no desire to continue with the franchise. After Jolie officially dropped out of the role, rumours of a third adaptation started circling in 2007, and were officially confirmed in 2009 with Megan Fox considered for the lead role. After Fox, Olivia Wilde and (oddly) Kristen Stewart turned the film down, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Peyton List, Nina Dobrev, Jaimie Alexander, Lyndsy Fonseca, Hayley Atwell, Kaya Scodelario and Sharni Vinson were all looked at as well, before the film was delayed even further. Last year, a new script was completed and Vikander, Ridley, Cara Delevigne, Emilia Clarke and Saoirse Ronan all vyed for the role, with Vikander ultimately successful.

Not content with just one action franchise, Vikander will have her plate full this year as she shoots not only Tomb Raider but also the upcoming fifth Bourne movie, co-starring original lead actor Matt Damon.

Alt-pop up and comer Halsey has become the subject of controversy today over predictably petty social media happenings.

Fans who went to check her official Twitter page today were left perplexed in the face of a message saying that the account "doesn't exist". There was no clear explanation for the deletion, but many are pointing to Instagram drama as the source of all problems.

On the second of April, the popstar posted an image of a person kissing a mannequin with text overlaid reading "Everything is changing and I don't know where I fit". The image immediately blew up when it was discovered that Halsey had not made the image herself but had predictably found the image on Tumblr and failed to credit the original artist.

The comments became more and more vitriolic after it was said that Halsey had blocked the original artist on Instagram from commenting on the image. However, as it turned out, Instagram had automatically blocked the artists comments after they had commented too many times on the work.

While her Twitter account has been closed, the Instagram photo in question is still up with a current count of 157 000 likes and almost 10 000 comments. The hatred is still spreading on the page, with people calling the artist "ugly", a "waste of oxygen" and telling her to kill herself. For her part, Halsey has updated the caption of the image to read "Photo by @affectioms sorry I didn't know."

While we're hardly the biggest fans of Halsey in the world, and artists definitely deserve credit for their original work, the amount of spiteful remarks aimed towards Halsey in this case is clearly unjustified. Images are regularly reposted around Instagram and Tumblr without credit, and while Halsey, as a public figure, should expect negativity as her brand becomes larger, the original artist should also expect a lack of credit for their work when they post it to these websites.

NBA player and Iggy Azalea's fiancée Nick Young is in hot water today after a video has leaked of him professing his love for a nineteen year old woman.

The problem? Iggy is 25 years old.

The video has made waves throughout the NBA fanbase today, after being filmed by Young's teammate D'Angelo Russell. It features Young, who doesn't seem to know that he's on camera, discussing his romantic involvement with a nineteen year old.

It's currently unknown how the video was leaked, but Bleacher Report is suggesting that it spread through Twitter like wildfire after Russell shared it accidentally on Snapchat.

Allegedly, the scandal has lead to a major feud in the locker room, with Russell's teammates isolating the player. Teammates are refusing to speak to him, and at a recent team meeting, no one would sit at Russell's table.

Since the video's leak, Russell has publicly apologised to Young, saying in a pre-game interview, "I'm as sick as possible. I wish I could make things better right away but I can't". On the other hand, Young seems open to a reunion, stating "Me and D'Angelo handled the situation we have in a private matter. I think it's something we really do need to sit down and talk about."

For her part, Iggy has publicly taken to Twitter to (perhaps sarcastically) thank the player for posting his video.

Maybe it's just our cynical side, but the timing of this video release seems less than coincidental. Iggy appears to be on an apology tour after her negative publicity last year, taking to the airwaves last week to admit to her suicidal thoughts following the copious amounts of hate comments posted online, and there's nothing more redemptive than a scorned girlfriend. As so often happens on the Internet, public perception of Iggy has seemingly changed overnight since the video's leak, with the sympathetic comments flooding in a far cry from the hate she was receiving just a few weeks ago when 'Team' was released.

After weeks of speculation, Tidal has finally shared the official streaming numbers for Kanye West's latest controversial effort, The Life of Pablo.

So far, the album has yet to be released physically, or to most major digital outlets - although lead single 'Famous' is now streaming on Spotify and Apple Music, and Kanye has tentatively confirmed an updated version of the album due out on Friday. As such, streaming details are of utmost importance to the release, which has been attacked online due to it's unique Tidal-exclusive release strategy.

While we have few other stream-exclusive albums to compare it to, it seems as though the collection has done well, with the album being streamed over 250 million times in it's first ten days of release, not accounting for illegal streams or downloads. What's unclear is whether or not these numbers are based on individual songs, or if they are only added to when the album as a whole is streamed in full.

Tidal has also confirmed that subscriptions to the music streaming service have doubled since the project's release. However, it's likely that most of these subscriptions would be attributed to the free trial that was offered to first-time subscribers following the album release, and that they do not necessarily reflect a long-term uptake in the service.

Tidal is currently celebrating it's first anniversary since it's launch in March 2015, during which time it has apparently amassed a total of over three million global subscribers. Allegedly, approximately 1.35 of these users have opted for the service's top tier, which costs $19.99 a month as opposed to the regular option of $9.99 a month. Despite this, the service is still trailing behind other options - Spotify recently announced that the service hit 30 million subscribers last week.

In a huge reveal for The Voice, the television show has today announced that controversial hitmaker Miley Cyrus and American sweetheart Alicia Keys will join the judging panel for the show's eleventh season later this year.

Cyrus, who has just wrapped up a gig as key adviser on the show under Team Christina, announced the new position in a typically hysterical post on her Instagram, stating:

And it wasn't long before Keys, who served as battle round advisor for former judge Pharrell back in season seven, announced her own arrival to the show through a statement released by her team to Billboard.

Keys' new partnership with The Voice is practically a match made in reality TV heaven, arriving at the perfect time for both the show and the artist. Despite releasing a lead single in 2014, 'We Are Here', and confirming an album for release in 2015, Keys has been unable to land a follow up to 2013's Girl on Fire - although whether that has more to do with label drama or her pregnancy isn't clear. The new judging gig will no doubt revitalise her career and we can't see it doing anything to hurt her amiable persona either.

On the other hand, Cyrus' addition to the panel is somewhat more unexpected. She's much younger than most of the thirty somethings on the panel, and her wild girl, stoner image is hardly consistent with the mature, laidback energies we've come to expect from the other judges. While she hasn't had huge commercial success since 2013's #Bangerz, she found critical acclaim with last year's Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz, and her crazy antics make sure she's consistently in the news one way or another, which begs the question: why does she need the failed career rebooter that is The Voice?

This judging panel shake-up is just the latest lineup in The Voice's long list of judges, with the show having gone through ten different judges since it's first season in 2011. The constantly rotating judging panel has often been pointed to as the reason for the shows success, as well as the caliber of artists chosen as judges - singers can join the show for a quick stint of one season, and then be replaced when the next season premiers later that year (the show is also known for its dual summer and winter seasons every year). In a first for The Voice, however, this will be the first time that the judging panel has more than one female on the show.

The T-Mobile Arena is an AEG & MGM Resorts partnership (cause let's be honest, T-Mobile isn't doing THAT well to afford an arena.)

The arena is currently under construction on the Las Vegas strip between New York-New York and Monte Carlo. It will be accessed by a new development project known as "The Park", with retail and dining space. The arena is expected to be completed soon and took around $375,000,000 to complete.

For the second time in five years, R&B songstress Ciara has chosen to leave her record label.

The departure was noted in the press several weeks ago, but only officially confirmed recently when fans noticed that the roster page on Epic's new website fails to include CiCi's name. Despite this, it is definitely up to date, definitely including recent signees to the label such as Puff Daddy and Jennifer Lopez, who only signed to the label a fortnight ago.

According to sources, Ciara requested to be released from the label and was granted leave by label head L.A. Reid. However, it's likely that the underperformance of last year's Jackie, which hit only #17 on the charts despite a platinum single 'I Bet', was at least partially to blame for the split.

This isn't the first time CiCi has been released from a record label contract. Following 2010's Basic Instinct, which the singer was forced to fund with her own finances after her record label lost faith in the project, she asked to be released from her deal with Sony in order to reunite with her original mentor Reid at Epic Records. She released two albums with Epic - 2013's self-titled Ciara and 2015's Jackie.

According to recent interviews, the singer is already hard back at work on her seventh album while she copes with being a single mother and prepares her upcoming wedding to Russell Wilson. We're interested to see what path she'll take with her next album - whether she'll sign with another label or if she'll go indie to the detriment of her commercial success like former R&B heavyweights Myá and Ashanti.

In a new interview with the Daily Beast, Amber Rose went on record to say she doesn't understand why she and Kim Kardashian are constantly getting criticised as "former sex workers," while Beyoncé gets a pass.

Beyond just recording music and dancing on stage, being an artist entails so much more, and a lot goes on behind the scenes.

After pointing out comparisons to Beyoncé, she then continued to raise an eyebrow against male celebrities.

Charli XCX and Marina & The Diamonds have become embroiled in a predictably petty Twitter dispute over a recent photoshoot that XCX participated in.

The formerly friendly English alt=pop stars and one-time collaborators on fan favourite 'Just Desserts' took shots at each other over social media recently following a photoshoot that XCX worked on with photographer Charlotte Rutherford for a new fragrance she has concocted with Impulse UK.

The drama began on Rutherford's page, when an innocent upload turned into a battle ground after Marina (@marinagrams) called out the singer for their allegedly similar styling.

Marina, of course, is alluding to the album artwork for her single 'Immortal', which was also shot by Rutherford and which featured a similarly tropical kitsch setting.

Not content with one social media complaint, the star who once found success with single 'Primadonna' later took to Twitter to sub-tweet XCX, with a passive aggressive remark which seemed to insinuate that the style was in some way original.

XCX took the higher ground in a longer response posted to Instagram and Tweeted to Diamonds, going on to clarify "fyi i'm not shading/dragging/beefing. that's not something I do. I'm just being direct and setting the record straight."

Given the duo's penchant for a Tumblr-inspired aesthetic and the ridiculously large egos of both involved, we're not surprised that the two have had a falling out, although the pettiness behind such a large rift is undeniably bizaare. Rutherford's imagery, while beautiful, is hardly unique, and to claim that one image was ripping off another would be to say that every Terry Richardson black and white polaroid was a mimicry of the last.

The situation between popstar Kesha and her record producer and alleged rapist Dr. Luke may have reached boiling point a few weeks ago as she was denied the right to leave the Luke owned label, Kemosabe Records, but the battle is far from over; and joining the fight against Luke is not only a myriad of celebrity supporters, but also a fair amount of singers who have had personal contact with the producer and who have left less than impressed.

Adding her voice to the cacophony of disgust lately is the original American Idol herself Kelly Clarkson, who recently discussed her own negative experiences with the producer on Australian radio show KIIS FM.

Clarkson's discussion of Luke originally began online with a Tweet which linked to another user's assertion that Kesha's given verdict "is some legit bullshit".

But when she was grilled about the Tweet live on radio last Monday morning, Clarkson refused to back down, claiming that Luke is a "talented dude" but with "poor character", and that her work with him was forced upon her by her label.

Clarkson, who most famously worked with the producer on hits like 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' and 'Since U Been Gone', opened up about her Tweet when she said "He’s just not a good person to me. We’ve clashed. I can’t really say anything about [Kesha’s accusations]. Her fans are like, ‘Why aren’t you standing up for her?’ and I’m like, ‘Well, I wasn’t there.’ I don’t know specifically what happened in their situation. Obviously I wasn’t there in the room. I can remark on his character. [...] I get along with everyone I work with. I love everyone I work with. He’s just not a good guy for me."

When pressed on the subject, Clarkson continued:

“He’s a talented dude but he’s just lied a lot. I’ve run into a couple really bad situations. Musically, it’s been really hard for me because he will just lie to people. It’s like ‘What?’ It makes the artist look bad. He’s difficult to work with, kind of demeaning, it’s kind of unfortunate. People are like well you’ve worked with Max [Martin, a fellow hitmaker and previous partner of Luke's] and Luke, and I’m like Max and Luke are very different. Obviously the dude is a talented guy but character-wise, no. I only worked with him – even the last time I worked with him – because literally I got blackmailed by my label. They were like we will not put your album out if you don’t do this.” 

Despite this, she refused to comment on the specifics of Kesha's accusations, saying “I don’t know that situation. He’s never done anything like that with me. But if it’s true I can’t imagine working with someone who had done something like that.”

While Dr. Luke and his rep have yet to officially comment on Clarkson's statements, a close source did state simply that “Dr. Luke and his partner were asked to work with her”, although whether this was by Clarkson herself or her label was not made apparent. Sony Music, who both Clarkson and Kesha are signed to, has also not responded to any requests for comments.

Lady Gaga has been teasing fans with news about her upcoming fifth studio album for a long time - but if new comments are anything to go by, we may not have long to wait before LG5's lead single is in our hands.

In true Gaga style - she famously sang a few lines from 'Born This Way' at the 2010 VMA's six months before it's official release in 2011 - Mother Monster has been on a minor press tour for the last few days following her mind-blowing appearance at the Academy Awards, where she sang her song about campus sexual abuse, 'Til It Happens To You', and has used the time to drop several hints regarding her upcoming single for the first time.

Responding to a fan who questioned her regarding new music on Twitter, Gaga responded with a cryptic "Tick Tik Tik Tik tick BOOM" to suggest the single's impending release.

And a few months ago, when speaking to Billboard following her Woman of the Year win, Gaga used similarly explosive imagery to describe her new music.

Known for her long and arduous creative process, Gaga has been working on the upcoming album since late 2013, immediately after the release of that year's ill-fated ARTPOP. While a producer for the first single hasn't been announced, Gaga has previously confirmed that she's spent time in the studio with long-time collaborator RedOne, 'UpTown Funk' hitmaker Mark Ronson, legend Elton John and 'Til It Happens To You' co-writer Diane Warren, throwing all those big names in the mix for the comeback record.

In one of the oddest band crossovers we've had since The Backstreet Boys announced a tour with The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole and One Direction's Liam Payne are apparently the hottest new couple in town!

Cheryl, 32, and Liam, 22, met on the set of X Factor UK in 2010, back when she was still married and he was just 16 years old (creepy, right?). Since then, they have remained friends and have continued to see each other regularly since Cheryl signed with Modest, One Direction's management. Payne even went so far as to release a remix of Cheryl's 'I Don't Care' under his DJ moniker, Payno.

Allegedly, the new couple began officially dating back in December after X Factor's season finale, when One Direction gave their final performances of 'History' and 'Infinity' together before officially announcing their hiatus as a band.

Cheryl apparently alluded to the relationship when she changed her bio on Instagram to read, "When people hate on you, it’s because you’ve got something they want." The bio has since been changed to "All love Good vibes only."

Cheryl can definitely use the affection right now, as she's right in the middle a high-profile divorce from ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, who she was married to for a measly nine months last year. Payne himself has just split up with his longtime girlfriend Sophia Smith, so it's safe to say that they found each other at the right time - but we have to say, we're a little upset she chose the ugly one of the group.

In a bittersweet situation, Britney fans are happy after the New Queen of Pop has added new songs to the setlist for her hit Las Vegas show Britney: Piece of Me.

Five new songs were added to the setlist - I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, If U Seek Amy, Breathe on Me, Touch of My Hand and a Missy Elliott mashup - to join Pretty Girls as the six new songs that have been added since the show first began.

For I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, Britney brought back her huge guitar from the Femme Fatale tour to grind on and also introduced a new sexy schoolgirl outfit. Britney slayed both the look and the choreo in this one, check it out below!

If U Seek Amy served us Circus era vibes with the set while Britneys new red outfit was all sex. It wasnt a huge performance but she seemed to be enjoying it and she looked so cute!

Breathe On Me was announced as one of Britneys fave songs a few years ago which is why it keeps popping back up for every tour. This performance was sexy as hell as predicted as she sultrily strutted around in her red lingerie.

Touch of My Hand followed Breathe On Me and was also super hot. In the first version of Hailee’s Love Myself Britney runs around in the same red lingerie backflipping across the stage as if she never had a knee injury. Check it out!

The Missy Elliott routine was also super hot as Britney danced harder than she has in years. We need a collaboration between these two!

As with all new beginnings, though, we will have to mourn the songs that didn’t make the cut for the new show. 3, Perfume, Alien, I Wanna Go and Lucky were all scrapped from the setlist. While Britney pretty much just walked around the stage during the Perfume and Alien numbers and sat completely still for Lucky, 3 and I Wanna Go had some fun choreo and stage tricks so well be sad to see them go.

Another day, another Twitter beef between one of the world's biggest popstars and one of our flops.

Ryn Weaver, best known for her single 'OctaHate', which hit an impressive #103 on the Billboard Hot 100, took to Twitter today to launch a series of accusations against fellow popstar Katy Perry, who she claims was a "bully" to her during a social gathering between friends last year.

The beef was started after Perry posted a public endorsement of presidential hopeful Hilary Clinton on her Twitter to promote a concert which she, Elton John and up-and-comer Andra Day would be performing at for the Human Rights Campaign. As if she'd been waiting months for the opportune moment, Weaver jumped on the chance to attack Perry by posting a now-deleted response to her Tweet.

After being pressed by fans to reveal the source of her discontentment with the popstar, Weaver went on to explain the start of her dislike, which allegedly began after Perry made some petty remarks about Weaver's presence at a Drake concert.

It's always a bad idea to mix political and personal views, and given that Perry was simply expressing her preference for a certain candidate we hardly see how this was the right place or time for Weaver to address her private concerns with the popstar. Given how much of an unknown Weaver is, we're also not sure that talking about this kind of thing on Twitter is a good move for her career. She's already faced the wrath of Perry stans: who knows what will come next? We may just have another Azealia Banks in the making.

Rihanna fans were severely disappointed tonight when the Bajan beauty failed to show up for a planned appearance at the 58th Grammy Awards.

The performance was already off to a messy start, after a planned announcement of Rih's appearance during a Super Bowl commercial instead only caused confusion over whether she would be performing at both, one or none of the events. Later, it was revealed that the singer would in fact not be performing the lead single off her new album ANTI, 'Work', despite it's desperate need for any kind of promotion; but would instead be performing 'Kiss It Better', a track which is a fan favourite but which has not been announced as an official or even promotional single.

But last night, less than twenty four hours before the performance was meant to be occurring, the singer's rep confirmed that she would in fact not be performing at the event, despite months of hype for her appearance. 

"Based on Rihanna's examination after Grammy rehearsals today, Rihanna's doctor put her on vocal rest for 48-hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords," said a press statement. "The antibiotics she has been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately, therefore she cannot perform safely."

Rih went on to apologise to her fans on Twitter for her non-appearance, saying:

As it turned out, she didn't even end up making the red carpet appearance she was expected to either. Apparently bronchitis prevents you from dressing up for an event, as well.

The non-starter of a performance comes following an unprecedentedly messy album release from Rihanna, who was previously known for releasing a new album every fourth quarter of every year like clockwork. This time around, Rih kept fans waiting for over four years for her eighth album. Kanye West was originally planned to executive produce the album, and Rih released three different singles from the project under his leadership (none of which ended up on the final album) before he left to work on his own messy release, The Life of Pablo. A planned virtual reality release for the 'Bitch Better Have My Money' music video was nearly forgotten about, and a promotional online game with Samsung failed to impress. New lead single 'Work' was met with a lukewarm response, and was followed by an unplanned leaking of the album after music streaming service Tidal uploaded it a week early. Then, the album was given away for free through a partnership with Samsung, which meant that any chance it had of charting high on the Billboard Hot 100 charts was dashed. The Rihanna Navy expected the Grammys performance to be a comeback of sorts for the album, but it looks like that hope has been lost as well.

It's been a long road to the release date of Gwen Stefani's third album. While it was originally announced for release back in late 2014, the album faced major delays after singles 'Baby Don't Lie' and 'Spark The Fire' failed to land. But with the announcement earlier this week that the album had found new life under the new title This Is What The Truth Looks Like, Gwen also announced a pretty interesting concept for her second official single from the project, 'Make Me Like U'.

We first predicted that the track would debut at The Grammys after we spotted the release date of February 16th, which is one day after the awards show airs; but with Gwen notably absent from the list of performers announced, we assumed that we would be up for a surprise live performance of the new song. The fact that choreographer Tricia Miranda posted, and then deleted, a photo of her and Stefani with a group of dancers, and hashtagged it as "#gwenstefaniauditions #grammys" only seemed to support our theory.

But in true Gwen style, it seems that the singer has much more up her sleeve than we bargained for. Shortly after announcing the tracklisting for their exclusive special edition of the album, Stefani's partner Target confirmed that the singer would be breaking ground at the Grammys, combining music video and live performance in what they are dubbing as "the first music video ever created on live TV".

Interestingly, the video will actually not air as part of the official Grammys ceremony. Instead, it will be acted out, filmed and broadcast completely live during a four-minute commercial break from the awards show. There's no word yet on the specifics of how that will exactly work. Will Gwen be singing live or if she will be lip syncing as most artists do in their music videos? Will she even be in the Grammys studio to record this video, or will she be on a completely different set? No one's quite sure, but it's an intriguing premise if nothing else; and the teaser trailer for it released earlier today only sets our hopes even higher.

While 'Make Me Like You' will be the first video ever created live, there are some related videos that may have inspired the singer. In 2011, Death Cab For Cutie livestreamed their video for 'You Are A Tourist' online, which became what they described as the first scripted live music video. And back in November, Erykah Badu filmed a live music video for 'Phone Down' on video streaming website Periscope. But Gwen is the first person to take the idea to TV, in what will certainly be a nerve-wracking experience for the onetime actress.

'Make Me Like U' is written by Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, with production handled by Mattman & Robin. Cumulatively, these four artists were responsible for Selena Gomez's 'Hands To Myself', one of the best pop songs of last year. Speaking of the track in an interview with Zane Lowe, Gwen said, “We were losing our minds. It was called ‘Make Me Like You’ and we couldn’t believe it. Like how did we write this song? It’s so good!”

Just when we thought that the gay bashing, bouncer punching, fake friend to Rihanna/real friend to rapists/occasional musician Azealia Banks had finally disappeared from the pop radar, the twenty first centuries representation of jealousy has reared it's ugly head once more to spew even more entitled opinions laced with sexism, racism and homophobia!

Banks fittingly waited until the first day of black history month to announce that she would officially be endorsing Donald Trump in the 2016 American presidential elections, before going on a full-blown rant about racism, capitalism, the American dream and the state of the nation.

While Banks' frankly disgusting comments wouldn't be out of place for a woman who once said that she would never date a black man, it's more likely that the so-called rapper is simply trying to drum up any ounce of publicity for her new single, 'The Big Big Beat'. The track was originally meant to be released last week on February the 7th, but was unsurprisingly pushed back an extra week for unknown reasons.

2015 was a stellar year for Lady Gaga, who got back to her roots following Cheek to Cheek, her jazz album with Tony Bennett. The popstar won a Grammy for the album, kicked off a collaborative tour with Bennett, released 'Til It Happens To You' to spread awareness regarding campus rape, starred in her first TV role in American Horror Story: Hotel, got engaged to longtime boyfriend Taylor Kinney, and performed high-profile tributes to the likes of Julie Andrews, Stevie Wonder, and Frank Sinatra. And judging by new reports, she'll be continuing her winning streak well into the new year with three huge performances lined up in just the first few months!

February the 7th: Super Bowl

Announced earlier today, Gaga will be headed to Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara this Sunday to perform 'The Star-Spangled Banner' in the annual national anthem performance before the Super Bowl kick off later that night, when the Carolina Panthers will take on the Denver Broncos. In doing so, Gaga will join Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyoncé in performing at the event, all of whom will be participating in this year's half time show. We know Gaga will hit this one out of the park!

February the 15th: The Grammy Awards

Gaga's Grammys performance was first announced back on the 6th of January, when software giant Intel confirmed during a conference that they would be working on a collaborative "performance that inspires to remind the world of the seed of innovation, the wizard behind the curtain, the mind behind the machine".

However, with the passing of David Bowie earlier this year, it seems that the performance has been reshaped, with Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the Grammys, stating "We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year's show, but when David passed — almost in a single moment — we knew we had to change direction. We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honour David. She's perfect for it." Gaga, who famously wore a lightning bolt on her face during promotion of her first studio album The Fame, will honour the late singer through an "experimental tribute" which will be directed by disco legend Nile Rodgers. February the 15th can't come quickly enough!

February the 28th: The OSCAR Awards

Just two weeks after her Grammys performance, Gaga will be headed to the Oscars stage at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre in order to perform 'Til It Happens To You'. The song was written alongside Diane Warren for The Hunting Ground, a documentary Gaga participated in that aimed to expose the truths behind rape on university campuses throughout America. It was announced last year that the track would also be a contender for the 'Best Original Song' category at the 88th Academy Awards, alongside Sam Smith's James Bond theme 'Writing's on the Wall' and The Weeknd's Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack single 'Earned It'. Another day, another slay!

It's a happy day for Gilmore Girl fans around the world today, after news that the cult hit TV show would be revived for a new four-part series to air later this year!

In typical 21st century fashion, Netflix confirmed the new season in an Instagram post last Friday, where they said:

Tentatively referred to as Gilmore Girls: Seasons, the four part mini-series is set to start filming tomorrow (!) on February the 2nd, with veteran cast members Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino returning as writers and directors. Back on board for roles in the show are original stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena and Yanic Truesdale. Judging by this season's sub-title, it seems as though there will be one episode released to correlate with each season of the year.

Gilmore Girls originally ran from 2000 - 2006 on The WB, before moving to The CW for it's seventh season in 2007. During it's run, the show aired to high critical acclaim, placing at #32 on Entertainment Weekly's "New TV Classics" list, and ranking on Time Magazine's 'All-TIME 100 TV Shows'. However, it came to a bitter end in 2007 when contract disputes with Sherman-Palladino and Palladino soured. While talk of a new series or even a film had been considered since the series cancellation, it apparently took some time for Netflix to make deals with Warner Bros., the original producers of the show.

This isn't the first high-profile revival Netflix has worked on - in fact, part of their success has been attributed to their recreations of cult TV shows. The Netflix-run fourth season of Arrested Development ran to critical acclaim in 2013, with another series apparently on the way; while their spin-off of Full House, appropriately titled Fuller House, is scheduled to air later this year.

Since it's season finale in 2004, talk of a Friends reunion has been constantly kept alive by fans - and just as frequently shot down by showrunners and stars. But if a new report is true, it seems a reunion is finally going to happen - if not in quite the way fans were hoping.

According to new reports, the Friends cast will be reuniting on their old network of NBC for a star-studded two hour special that will pay tribute to director James Burrows, who directed fifteen episodes of the long-running sitcom and recently completed production on his 1 000th television episode (this time for NBC's comedy Crowded). The tribute, which is being compared by industry insiders to last year's Saturday Night Live Fortieth Anniversary Special, will also reunite the casts of other well-known Burrows-helmed sitcoms, including Taxi, Cheers, Frasier, and Will & Grace; as well as bring together the stars of more recent Burrows programs, such as The Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly.

There is one catch though - the reunion will only include five sixths of the friends. According to a spokesperson for the actor, the man behind Chandler Bing and new The Odd Couple star Matthew Perry won't be able to attend the taping later this month due to rehearsals for an upcoming London play. "I wish I could say it was going to be a reunion," said co-star David Schwimmer. "[It's a] 5/6 reunion." Instead, Perry will be participating in the special by way of a taped message.

In the second of two major celebrity deaths this week, it has been confirmed that prolific English actor Alan Rickman has passed away earlier today.

In a statement released to press just hours ago, Rickman's family confirmed that the death was cancer-related. "The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer at the age of 69", said the press release. "He was surrounded by family and friends."

Older viewers may remember him for his role as Hans Gruber in Die Hard (1988), his Bafta-winning part as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), or his portrayal of Emma Thompson's foolish husband in Love, Actually (2003). But for younger fans, his most iconic role will always be Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series, a character he portrayed for over a decade.

On the memorable part, for which he won an award for best character portrayal in the entire Harry Potter franchise, Rickman once stated, "What is splendid is that people in general adore Snape. He is sarcastic, stubborn, etc, etc...But he is also fascinating. I have a lot of fun impersonating him, I take immense pleasure in playing someone so ambiguous. We never know what to expect nor do we know what he really thinks."

Following the conclusion of the Harry Potter series, Rickman tried his hand at directing, both directing and starring in passion project A Little Chaos (2014) alongside Sense and Sensibility (1995) co-star Kate Winslet. His last appearance will be in Alice Through the Looking Glass, in which he will play Absolem the Caterpillar, due to be released later this year.

Rickman was notoriously private about his personal life, to the extent that it once took him three years to inform the press that he had been married. He met his first and only girlfriend in 1965, at the age of nineteen, when he began a relationship with eighteen year old Rima Horton. They moved in together in 1977 and their relationship continued until his death. However, while they were wed in New York City in 2012, Rickman did not officially confirm their marriage until 2015, presumably putting the lack of news about their wedlock down to the fact that no one had attended the wedding. "It was great because no one was there. After the wedding in New York, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and ate lunch", said Rickman, before confirming that he had given his wife a simple $200 ring that "she never wears". While Rickman never had any children, he will leave behind his godson, fellow actor Tom Burke.

Somewhat curiously, Rickman shared several similarities with rockstar David Bowie, whose death also shook the world earlier this week. Both were successful English male actors, and both passed away from cancer at age 69. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the old Hollywood superstition about celebrity deaths coming in threes is proven untrue.

In the saddest bout of pop culture news we've had in a while, it has been confirmed today that legendary glam rock singer David Bowie has passed away at age 69.

In a statement posted on Bowie's official Twitter acount, his publicity team simply stated:

David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.

Bowie kept news of his illness largely under wraps, with most major news outlets failing to report on the news, and instead allowing him to continue the lack of media presence he had cultivated in the past decade. Indeed, the most news we've heard about the reclusive rockstar recently was related to his twenty fifth studio album, Blackstar, which was released just three days ago on January 8th, his birthday. With song titles like 'Lazarus' populating the project, it's likely the album will be reconsidered by critics once again with news of his death.

Born David Jones in 1947, Bowie changed his name to distance himself from The Monkees Davy Jones after he achieved popularity. As a young man, he played saxophone and started a mime company for a living while singing in a string of bands on the weekends; and after signing with Mercury Records, he released his debut album Man of Words, Man of Music, in 1969.

Bowie rose to popularity in 1972 with his album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, which introduced his androgynous alien alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust. Three years later, he achieved his first American crossover hit with #1 single 'Fame' off the album Young Americans. In what he later considered a publicity stuny, Bowie revealed in a 1972 interview that he was gay, and, later claimed he was bisexual, later confirming an affair with The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger.

He later introduced a "plastic soul" sound with 'Fame' in 1975, tributed A Clockwork Orange with 'Suffragette City' in 1976 and tore up the dancefloors in 1983 with 'Let's Dance', a #1 hit in America. After forming a short-lived band in 1989 with his brother Tony called Tin Machine, Bowie returned to a solo career in 1993 with 'Jump They Say', a song about his schizophrenic half-brother who had recently commited suicide. He worked consistently until 2004, when he went on an extended hiatus before returning with his highest-charting album ever, The Next Day, in 2013. Despite heavy demand for a tour, Bowie has kept a low profile, last performing on stage in 2006 when he earned a lifetime achievement Grammy Award.

Outside of music, Bowie was also well known for his eccentric fashions, which frequently alternated between flamboyant space cowboy and all-American boy next door depending on the day. He was also an accomplished actor, with starring roles in films such as The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) in which he played an alien; Just A Gigolo (1978), starring alongside Marlene Dietrich in her final film role; Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983), in which he played a World War II prisoner of war; and Labyrinth (1966), a cult classic.

Our thoughts go out to all of Bowie's family and friends, and to all of his fans touched by this unexpected tragedy.

Fans of British indie-pop star Marina & The Diamonds are in for a real New Years treat today. After months of teasing, Marina's cover of Cyndi Lauper's classic gay rights anthem 'True Colors' has finally leaked online!

'True Colors' is a relatively recent song that was written during the FROOT sessions back in 2014. Originally, the song was first intended to be used in conjunction with a piece Marina wrote for World Aids Day back in December of that year, and plans were made to include it in a video interview she was conducting on the day. Allegedly, however, Marina's team was unable to gain clearance quickly enough for the song to be released and the track was moved to the back burner. Later, it was considered to be placed on a re-release of the FROOT album, alongside tracks like 'Disconnect', which featured Clean Bandit and was performed live at Coachella; and 'I'm Not Hungry Anymore', which leaked in snippet form earlier this year. However, Marina later decided to scrap the FROOT re-release in August of last year, once again leaving the song homeless.

For those who have been living under a rock for the past thirty years, 'True Colors' is a track sung and produced by Cyndi Lauper and first released on the 1986 album of the same name. Written by icon Billy Steinberg about his elderly mother, the track was later dedicated to Lauper's best friend who had died from AIDS, and thus became an anthem for the gay community who was struggling with the disease at the time.
